MARJORIE NICHOLS, LCSW
Ms. Nichols is a licensed clinical social worker and has provided behavioral health care for over 30 years. In her capacity as an employee assistance counselor, corporate director of EAP systems, director of provider networks, she has written and facilitated seminars and workshops for numerous organizations. She went on to establish her own consulting firm working with group practices, business and medical organizations, and behavioral health organizations. Marjorie Nichols designed and implemented Southwest Airlines recurrent training for the Emergency Reponse Team.
Ms. Nichols graduated from the Eastern Illinois University with an undergraduate major in
Psychology and health education. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from University of Illinois and has served as a field instructor for the University of Texas at Arlington for social work interns. Marjorie was invited to be one of 10 social workers to take part in a national social work and consumer’s dialogue in Washington DC by SAMHSA and NASW. She speaks at many professional national conferences; was the American Counseling Association speaker on managed care and EAP training and has written over 50 training programs for private industry as well as Hazelden, Human Affairs International, CIGNA, Preferred Health Care (now ValueOptions), etc.
Ms. Nichols has provided specialty training for Southwest Airlines in the area of Critical Incidents for their Family Assistance Committee. Additionally, she was involved in the Critical Incident Debriefings for American Airlines following September 11th and served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross providing crisis counseling in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Ms. Nichols recently developed seminars on "Personal Branding", "Resiliency", "Emotional Intelligence" and facilitated these and other trainings for Bank of America. In 2014 provided a day-long retreat for WaterTower Theatre on "Effective Communication", "Emotional Intelligence", and "Stress Management". She brings her expertise as a psychotherapist and her business consultant skills to her seminars.
